Amazing web design!

I found the most incredible flash website the other day. I was looking over one of my fav sites, thefwa and found this…

http://www.ff0000.com/

This is just absolutely amazing creative web design to the max! How on earth did someone come up with this? It probably took them about a year to design and build this website from scratch and fair play to them! Website of the year if you ask me!!

Blame the Yanks

Not too long ago none of us here in the UK had even heard the term ‘credit crunch’. But now, thanks to endless coverage in the media, we all know that it means that it is becoming increasingly difficult to borrow money, particularly if you have a less than perfect credit rating.

To borrow almost any amount of cash your credit rating will be assessed. This means someone will poke around into your financial background to determine how much you currently owe and whether you have any outstanding bad debts.

In recent years it has been exceptionally easy to borrow funds for almost any purpose; a new house, a new car or even a holiday. This is because the economy has been booming. Wages have been relatively high, employment levels have been high and everything has been on the up and up. It became possible to buy a property and borrow enough money for a new car and a holiday, even if you had no money of your own, just a job.

Things have now changed. Irresponsible lending in the U.S. has led to a tsunami of mortgage defaulters. People were inappropriately sold mortgages that they have been unable to maintain. This is mainly a U.S. problem because they failed to regulate their lending activity effectively.

The knock on effect of this is that the news media, ever hungry for the next big panic story, are making the situation this side of the Atlantic a lot worse than it really is by exaggerating the current situation. They love sensational news and an economic ’slow-down’ simply isn’t sensational enough.

So what can you do to insulate yourself from the effects of this supposed ‘credit crunch’? Rather than buy expensive items like houses and cars you might consider renting for a while, until the economic climate has at least stabilised, which it will. Rather than buy that new car you might consider leasing. And if you are in business and you need commercial vehicles to keep your business going you would do well to look at the variety of incredible van leasing deals available today.

Whatever you do - don’t panic!

Who Can Help you Move Faster? Superman, Hulk or Spiderman?

We all know that moving home can be a bit of a hassle, so what would it be like if we had the help of a superhero? It would be great, but out of the three top superheroes who would be a better choice for you. Let’s have a look through a few.

First we have Superman, the man of steel is a sure fire win if you want to move your items in quick time, as he does move at the speed of light. But there may be a few downsides, especially if you have anything with krypton in it or louis lane is around, he will probably end up breaking it all.

Next we have Mr. Geek himself Spiderman, I am abit precautious to ask him to move my personal belongings, due to the simple fact that he is not very strong. But maybe he won’t have to lift up anything, he could use his webs to swing them to the location, just be a bit precautious that webs are not very strong either and may snap.

Finally we have The Hulk if you’re looking to relocate your house completely then this is your guy, he could lift the whole house up in one scoop and then place it wherever you want it, the only downside I see with the Hulk is you have to make him angry veeeeeerry angry. Just do not make him to mad otherwise you will end up getting a lot more than just a house move.

So this is my evaluation on the top three, do let me know your thoughts and opinions on each and maybe you have your own choice and reasons, whether its Indiana Jones, Rambo or the Iron Man.

Themed Parties!

The other weekend me and my workmates set off on a night out on the piss at a very contemporary venue in london. The event was all organised by the company I work for which meant all the food and drink was absolutely free of charge!! It looked absolutely amazing where we were and everyone was having such a great time!

It was about time my work organised a get together, this is the first one in years!! My managers would never of been able to sort it all out themselves so im pretty sure they used corporate event organisers to help the evening run smoothly which was probably a wise choice!

Check out this picture of our amazing night!

The theme for our event was ‘ball room’ and it was so funny to see everyone dressed up so smart! I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Now is the Right Time To Buy Property!

Although property has lower avaliability these days, house hunters are dead certain that now is the right time to snap up some new homes. Property buying is currently at an all time low due to the current credit crunch phase, but this is not stopping people that are trying to get onto the property ladder from jumping in the deep end and getting themselves a great bargain.

My under-cover mission with my digital voice recorder!

I just got myself a very stylish looking digital voice recorder. The idea behind this purchase was to do a little detective work of my own and find out wheather my gf was cheating on me or not! What I did was leave my miniature voice recorder under her pillow so when she made phone calls throughout the day my voice recorder would capture everything!! I didnt have to worry about time as this little thing records for over 17hrs!!

The next time I got to her place I quickly grabbed my voice recorder from under her bed and analysed the footage. Thankfully, there were no secret phone calls that I shoulnt know about and I am convinced that she is not cheating on me! Thanks to this little device I am no longer wondering what is going on behind my back!

If your in the same boat, I would highly recommend getting ureself one of these!!

The Washing Machine Sofa Chair, What a Weird Idea!

Ok so we have all used a washing machine in our home and the occasional commercial laundry equipment at places such as the launderette. But look at this brand new innovative idea, I have recently come across an article that uses plastic chips instead of water to wash clothes but this little gadget takes it to the next level, just take a look at it. It can be used as a sofa aswell, basically this little machine does not use any water at all it uses ionized air to clean the clothes so you will hardly feel anything moving while you are sitting down on this comfortable seat. What will they think of next? You can read the whole source here

The Forgotten Art of Table Setting

Once upon a time, family mealtimes around the dining table took place every day. Today, we are more likely to eat our evening meals from a tray in front of the TV. If we are lucky we might get together around the dining table on a Sunday or for special occasions.

We are all so busy these days, eating wherever and whenever we can, that mealtimes are becoming a thing of the past. Only our older relatives still maintain the routine of setting a dining table and many from younger generations have completely forgotten how to set a place at table.

Here’s a little test for you: When setting a table with just a plate, knife, fork, spoon, glass and napkin where should each item be placed and which way round should the knife face? (Answer below).

A smartly set table enhances the enjoyment of a meal. Taking the time to set a table properly gives the diners a feeling that they are important and that they are about to experience something special.

While this may seem like a lot of trouble it is definitely very cool to take a little time away from the TV and computers to enjoy a meal with family or friends. With a few table mats, a table cloth and some good quality tableware anyone can prepare a table for an enjoyable meal, even if it has been delivered by a local pizza delivery store.

Enhance your dining table with a few table mats

How to set a basic dining place at a table:

  1. Place the plate one inch from the edge of the table
  2. Place the knife to the right of the plate with the blade facing inwards, one inch from the table edge
  3. Place the fork to the left of the plate, one inch from the edge of the table
  4. Place the table spoon to the right of the knife, again, one inch from the edge of the table
  5. Fold the napkin in half and place to the left of the fork, crease furthest away from the fork
  6. Place the glass directly above the knife, one inch away

My Very Own Kitchen Nightmare!!

I really like to cook at home with my friends and family. Cooking has been a little hobby of mine for a few years now and I find it a nice escape from my job! Now here comes the irony. My work team had decided to put together a corporate team building excerise to get us to know eachother better, we went along to an event which was hosted by a private catering company and we were all split into two teams. Each team would recieve a mystery basket and have to decide on something amazing to cook! The novelty is that each team have a head chef kinda like Gordon ramsay! So its basically just like the program! I was having an absolutely great time through the day, I really loved how this team building event all came together.

I was bragging about my cooking and know-how right up unitl the moment of truth! I had been cooking souffle which would be the “piece de resitence” of our teams meal. Whilst I was busy chin-wagging and maybe having a bit too much vino, I popped my head round to check on my souffle and discovered a flat pancake in its place! Oh dear!! All of my cooking skills had gone flying straight out of the window. Of course my Gordon Ramsay look alike chef was not impressed at all, which put my ego back where it should be!! lol

Sat Nav Saved My Marriage

Vehicle satellite navigation systems are definitely very cool. Although they have occasionally been responsible for routing heavy goods vehicles down narrow country lanes or sending coach loads of tourists down dead end streets they are, on the whole, an enormous benefit.

Before we had a sat nav in our car any journey that required a little map-reading would result in my partner and I seriously considering divorce. She is completely incapable of reading a map, as she admits herself. Our friendly little sat nav has probably saved out marriage.

There is now a sat nav designed and developed specifically for drivers of vans and heavy goods vehicles. This neat device will provide routing and navigation instructions based upon a vehicles dimensions and legal restrictions. This should mean no more buses stuck down narrow lanes and no more tall lorries attempting to get under low bridges.

The ProNav from Navevo will be a particular benefit for London delivery drivers as it is capable of identifying loading bays and red route information. It also has built in London parking penalty warnings to help delivery drivers avoid unwanted charges.

So if you are the driver of a commercial vehicle, coach, lorry or van, do yourself a favour and get yourself one of these neat gizmos. Definitely very cool indeed.
